When recruitment makes sense. Looking back at the past year

The end of the year naturally invites us to evaluate results in numbers. We could write about how many strategic positions we filled this year. We could highlight the prestigious awards we received or the new talent markets we opened.

But when we at S&you look back at 2025, we don’t just see charts. We see stories of career progress. We see courage to change. And above all, we feel gratitude for the trust you place in us to guide you through key moments in your careers and your business.

Why it’s good to be “different”

This year was not an easy one for companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Economic uncertainty and the war for talent tested the resilience of many management teams. Yet in 2025, we felt one shift more strongly than ever before.

Clients came to us not only with the request to “fill a chair,” but with a call for advice on how to set up a strategy or manage a team transformation. They wanted us to think beyond recruitment – about how HR strategy truly serves business goals.

One of our clients summed it up perfectly during a meeting. At the beginning, he said: “I’m here because I’m responsible for agencies.” By the end of the meeting, he added: “You are different.

This “difference” lies in the shift from being a mere supplier to seeking genuine cultural alignment. Our partnerships in 2025 were built on depth rather than volume, and on dialogue instead of transactional recruitment. It proved that even in complex situations, a human approach makes the difference.

This openness enabled us to deliver projects with real impact:

  • We spoke at the Sustainable Business Forum on the topic of transparent remuneration.
  • We also partnered with family-owned businesses, for which we prepared an HR workshop at the International Congress of Family Businesses on how to attract and retain talent.

The year 2025 showed that our role on the market has long gone beyond standard recruitment. We are proud that you see us as an expert partner with a strong voice in topics shaping the future of work.

Moments we are proud of

In 2025, we were part of many moments that changed companies and lives. These stand out in particular.

  • One story from Slovakia brought us special joy. A pharmaceutical company entrusted us with a key recruitment for the position of Production Manager. The candidate accepted the offer, but it involved a major life decision – relocating from Prague. By truly listening, we were also able to find a suitable role for his wife as a Pharma Specialist.
  • Another challenge was recruitment for a leading Slovak advertising agency, for which we sourced Key Account Managers with knowledge of German and Chinese. Thanks to a direct executive search approach, we filled two positions despite the very short recruitment timeline.
  • We also helped an international chemical company to find a Communication & Branding Manager for the entire Central European region. The requirements included five years of experience in the field and experience with international markets.

S&you writes a new chapter

For us, 2025 was also a year of internal change. After many years at the helm, Martin Huba is passing the baton. His vision helped build Synergie and S&you into the stable partner it is today. From December 1, 2025, we are writing a new chapter under the leadership of Branislav Jančuška, who brings new energy and more than 20 years of experience in HR. It is a change that symbolizes both continuity and the courage to innovate.
